5 Beauty shortcut secrets

1. Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the quickest way to get a gorgeous shine and glow to your skin, both on your face and body, and is a must after winter. With our skin being dry over winter, we have a lot more dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, so take some time out each week to exfoliate both your face and body in readiness for the warmer weather of spring. Be sure to invest in one specifically for your face as your skin is a lot thinner here. Rub gently on your face and don’t forget about your neck.

2. Beautiful Brows

Brows are in the spotlight at the moment, so it is important to ensure that they are kept tidy and on point. Vaseline works wonders in keeping them in place, but a great product to invest in is a brow gel, which ensures they stay put for the entire day.

We are spoilt for choice at the moment when it comes to products to fill in or create thicker brows without having to have a degree in make-up so it is super easy to create the perfect brow.

3. Tame your Tresses

Coming up to a haircut and your ends are looking a bit worse for wear? Invest in a dry oil or silicone, which tames frizz and keeps those split ends healthy, in between salon visits.

4.Roaring Red Lips

Red lipstick is not for everyone, but those of us who are brave enough to attempt it know that it is no easy feat when trying to achieve a perfect lip. A great tip I have learnt over the years when applying red lipstick: always use a lip liner first, as this keeps lipstick in place.

In order to prevent it from fading over the day or evening, apply some foundation to your lips and then apply your first layer of lipstick. Using one sheet of a tissue hold it over your lips and brush some face powder over your lips through the tissue.

Repeat this process two to three times and then apply a light coat of gloss – this will ensure your lipstick stays put just that bit longer. This method can be used for any colour! Products to try include Claudia Stevens Anti-Feather Color Lock or Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain.

5. Crazy for Coconuts

Coconut oil has many benefits, but a great beauty secret is that it makes for an amazing hair mask, leaving your hair silky and smooth. It is also great to use as body oil if you suffer from dry skin and works well as a cuticle oil or hand cream.
